Vernon_Childers

Vern Childers has been a key member of the Ries Outfitters staff since he joined Ries Outfitters in 2008 as a Pro Staffer. Childers spends most of his time hunting the elusive world record bucks of eastern Ohio and working on his debut video for entry into the Outdoors Channel's "Dream Season", a fast paced reality-based hunting show that features up and coming hunters entering into the pro circuit.

Childers grew up hunting and fishing with his father and brothers in the rural mountains of Eastern Kentucky. After graduating from high school, he started competing in - and winning AKC tournament coon hunting contests on a regular basis. Vern's still waiting for that big break on his hunting and drag racing video productions, when he can be picked up competing on the NHRA Pro Stock Circuit during the summers and harvesting MONSTER whitetails during the fall and winter.

Childers lives in Mason, OH., with his wife Catie, and lap dog Duke, a Doberman Pincher.
